Admission and requirements
Admission Requirements
- Master's degree with a thesis in a field related to English language teaching
- GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale
- TOEFL score of at least 575 (PBT) / iBT 90, or IELTS score of at least 6.5, or equivalent
- Work experience of at least 2 years in a field related to the use of English
Graduation Requirements
- Pass the qualifying examination to proceed to the dissertation phase
- Propose the dissertation and pass the final oral defense (open to the public), evaluated by a committee appointed by the University
- At least 2 publications related to the dissertation content published or accepted for publication in a national or international journal per OHEC regulations
- Make revisions to the dissertation based on examiners' feedback
- Complete Progress Seminar
- Obtain library and financial clearance from the University
- Demonstrate good conduct and discipline
English Test Exemption
- TOEFL iBT 90 or PBT 575
- IELTS Academic overall band 6.5 or above
- Work experience of at least 2 years in an English-related field
- AU-EPT Exemption Applicants who do not meet the above scores may take the AU English Proficiency Test (AU-EPT) administered by the Graduate School.
